A Warning for those shopping for a Used Steinway Piano (World Class Piano Company / Dan Wilson)

We are posting this blog as a warning to anyone searching for a used Steinway piano on the internet.  Read about our experience with Dan Wilson (AKA Daniel Wilson, Danny Wilson, Mark Wilson, Mark D Wilson), owner or World Class Piano Company of Rome, GA.

In February 2011, we purchased a Steinway S piano from Mr. Wilson.  After sending him a check for payment in full - OVERNIGHT! - we never received the piano.  After a month of waiting and finally discovering that the piano in question was actually NEVER owned by, or ever in the possession of Mr. Wilson, the deal was mutually cancelled.  However, even after numerous promises by Mr. Wilson to refund the money we had paid, we eventually stopped hearing from him altogether. 

A small claims case was filed in Brevard County, FL by us.  He did not appear.  Details of this case can be viewed at  http://199.241.8.125/.  Under 'Public Records', click on 'Court Case Search', then "Public Information', then 'Search by: Case Number' (Case #05-2011-SC-033224-xxxx-xx).  Unable to find any property owned by Mr. Wilson, I fear our judgment may prove useless in collecting the money we are still owed.

As of today's date, Mr. Wilson is still conducting business in Rome, GA.  He ships nationwide, mostly to dealers and other wholesalers, but has and will sell to the public.  He advertises and solicits on Craigslist, Twitter, Facebook, flickr and RSS-feed.  His web-site is www.SteinwayWanted.com.  We strongly advise thinking very carefully before doing business with this man or his company.
